How to Choose Your First Woods on the Water Trip
The first question I ask is never "What's your budget?" or "When can you travel?"
It's always: "What does your body need most right now?"
Because that's the real metric for choosing a journey. Not the destination. Not the aesthetic. Not even the itinerary. You — and what you actually need.
There are six journeys we offer, and they all start from the same foundation (nature, slowness, intention), but they move in different directions. And the right one depends on where you are, not where you think you should be.
Let me walk you through the feel of each, so you can locate yourself in it.
Jungle Immersions
Jungle immersions are for people whose bodies need deep green quiet. If you're craving the specific weight of humidity, the sound of water everywhere, the feeling of being held by something much larger than yourself — this is the one. Jungle doesn't ask you questions. It just holds you.
Island & Beach Escapes
Island and beach escapes are for people whose bodies need space and slowness. The ocean at your pace. Long afternoons where nothing is supposed to happen. The kind of rest that comes from floating, wading, sitting on sand. You don't go to a beach trip. You go into it.
Wellness Retreats
Wellness retreats are for people whose bodies are asking for permission to stop. Yoga. Breathwork. Thermal pools that warm you from the inside out. A schedule that's gentle by design. This isn't about crushing a fitness goal. It's about remembering that your body has wisdom. This journey amplifies that.
Regenerative Journeys
Regenerative journeys are for people whose minds need meaning. You're not just traveling — you're in relationship with a place, with its people, with its history. You're learning. You're contributing. You're moving through the world with intention that goes beyond your own rest. This journey is for people who travel as activism.
Wild Wellness Group Trips
Wild Wellness group trips are for people whose souls need community. Traveling alone is sacred. Traveling with the right people is differently sacred. We handpick group sizes and movements so you're never crowded, but you're also never alone. Black to Nature and beyond — these trips are built on the truth that you deserve to roam with people who get it.
The Well Traveler
The Well Traveler is the bespoke option. Maybe you need three days jungle and two days beach. Maybe you need an experience no one else has done. Maybe you need something entirely made for you. This is private trip planning where we listen first and plan second.
So how do you choose?
Close your eyes for a second. Ask yourself: If I could feel any one feeling on this trip, what would it be?
Rest? Go to the beach. Grounded? Go to the jungle. Held? Go to wellness. Purposeful? Go regenerative. Seen? Go group. Fully yours? Go private.
That feeling is your North Star. Not the location. The feeling.
The second question is about pace. Are you someone who needs structure, or do you need to be reminded that structure is optional? Some people thrive in a gently-guided retreat with a schedule. Others need to give themselves permission to move at their own pace.
Know yourself there.
The third thing is logistics — and I'll be honest, it matters least. But it matters some. Where is your body currently living? What's the climate you need right now? Do you need deep rest or gentle adventure? What season are we in?
But the real answer lives in that first question. What does your body need?
When you answer that honestly, the journey chooses itself.
